Prayer of Surrender and Thanksgiving

Life can become very overwhelming.

At those times it’s helpful to stop and have a few moments with Jesus.

Here is a prayer you may find helpful.

Prayer of surrender and thanksgiving.

My Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the wonderful, precious gift of your son, Jesus!

Thank you for your wonderful, endless and amazing love, for me!

Thank you for providing a way to be reconciled to you, through your son Jesus, through his death on the cross and his resurrection.

Lord Jesus, I am yours. I have been crucified with you, and have risen with you.

My old life is dead. I am reborn, into You!

It’s no longer me that lives, but Christ who lives in me.

Lord Jesus, be glorified in me, not by me or by my abilities, but by You in me.

You are glorified in me when there is less of me and more of You.

I therefore surrender all to You, Father, in Jesus name, knowing that I can surrender nothing unless you do it in me.

I can do nothing without you. I am nothing without you.

In you I live and move and have my being.

I ask that you would enable me to willingly take up my cross, daily, and follow you.

I ask that you would enable me, every day and every moment, to crucify my flesh, and allow you to truly live and be glorified in me.

Let the old die – completely – never to rise again. Let my new life in you grow and blossom.

Lord you have the victory!

You are victorious in everything concerning me.

With all that I have and all that I am, I honour you, praise you and worship you.

I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
