In God’s strength and will

Unless the Lord builds the house,

those who build it labor in vain.

Unless the Lord watches over the city,

the watchman stays awake in vain.

It is in vain that you rise up early

and go late to rest,

eating the bread of anxious toil;

for he gives to his beloved sleep.

Psalm 127:1-2

Do you have days when you can accomplish so much, and other days that seem to waste away?

Do you struggle with health problems that stop you from doing what you’d like to do?

I have fibromyalgia, and there are good days and awful days. There are days when I feel so ill and tired, that all I can do is to rest, and I get stressed about the things I’d like to be doing, or feel I should be doing.

This past week I’ve been really exhausted, and frustrated because the creative projects I want to continue have been left by the wayside.

Through the fibromyalgia, I am learning to trust in God’s strength, and when I’m doing things in his will, I often amaze myself! For example, this week, despite the exhaustion, and not doing my flower arrangements or art, I have had the energy to practice my harp, for almost an hour each day!

This morning Jesus reminded me, again, of the importance of remaining in his will and purpose. I wrote this poem as a reminder, for encouragement, and as a prayer.

In You

Without you…

I truly am nothing.

Without you…

I am weak and tired.

Without you…

I am uninspired.

Without you…

my efforts are in vain.

With you…

I have strength.

With you…

I am inspired.

With you…

I bear much fruit.

For with you…

I am all you want me to be!

My desire

is to remain

in you,
