Jesus died to set us free from the burden of sin!
Often it can allude us that something we’re doing is actually sin, and we need to open ourselves to God and allow him to speak the truth into our hearts. This is especially difficult when it’s something we enjoy, that appears innocent.
Last week, God made it clear to me that a certain reality TV show I was watching, was displeasing to him. I started to have doubts about it, but ignored them, as I enjoyed the show. Yesterday I directly asked God to show me his thoughts regarding this, and he did! I have repented, and he gave me this word.
You have obeyed me, and I am rejoicing, for I know you struggled with this.
I know the sin in you, and I rejoice when you allow me to reveal it to you.
This is true, meaningful intimacy, to allow me into the dark, hidden recesses in your heart. And to see and know me, your perfect, spotless saviour, who hates sin so much, yet took it upon himself and became sin, that you would be free. I took, and became, all your sin. I know your sin.
I want to really know you, which means exposing all the sin in you. This is nakedness: being fully exposed, fully transparent, before me.
I do not, ever, reject a person who is transparent before me.
I will never reject you, my child.
I want you to be completely clean, and I am your strength. Only in me can you be clean.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed. But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God. John 3:16-21
Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?
Do you have a personal relationship with him?
If not, do you realise your need for him?
Have you become lukewarm in your walk, and realise your need to recommit your life to Jesus?
Here is a prayer you can say.
Dear Jesus, I am a sinner, and I need you. I thank you for going to the cross to die for me, and for rising again.
I am sorry for everything I have ever done wrong, and I ask you to please wash me clean. I ask you to come into my life to be my Lord and saviour, and I surrender to You.
Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and make me whole. Help me to trust you; help me to love you; help me to live for you. Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen
Whenever we do wrong after this, we need to say we’re sorry and ask for his forgiveness. We need to ask Jesus to help us to change.
Talk to him every day, and listen to him, as he wants to talk to you!
Get a bible: I suggest you begin by reading the Gospels and the Psalms. This will help you to get to know God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you.
Jesus doesn’t promise to make life perfect, in fact there may be more hardship and suffering in following him, but he does promise to give us a purpose and a future: a reason to live!
