It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep. Psalm 127:2
Do you feel overwhelmed?
In this fast-paced world, there are so many expectations that we can put on ourselves.
I struggle, quite often, with feeling overwhelmed, which can lead to overdoing it if I’m not careful.
I’ve discovered that my best days are the ones when I’m “flowing” in the Holy Spirit, trusting God, obeying his promptings, and allowing him to lead me.
For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel,
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” Isa 30:15
This is a poem the Lord gave me.
Come, rest in me!
Come to me my child
and find your rest in me.
Surrender totally to me
and rest in my loving embrace.
I am your strength!
I am your life!
Nothing will ever separate us,
and I am always with you!
Rest my child,
bathe in my peace
and know that I love you.
There is no need to struggle
and no need to worry:
these are fruitless activities that lead to harm.
I am your safe haven,
your fortress and your hiding place.
I know you through and through.
I know your life.
I know your past, present and future.
I am leading you.
Let every step and every moment be in me.
Live in me and you will not stumble.
Live in me and you will be free!
