Do you question your purpose?
I have met many Christians who say they have no gifts or talents, who feel they don’t do anything for God, who wonder what their ministry is.
Do you feel you have no gifts?
I want to encourage you. God has given every person natural talents, and every Christian has been given spiritual gifts. You are probably using these talents and gifts without realising it. I’ve noticed that many gifts are often overlooked or taken for granted, such as the people who are doing things “behind the scenes”, quietly helping and blessing people, organising, giving of themselves in practical ways.
Do you feel you don’t do anything for God?
If you have given your life to Christ, then he IS using you, wether you realise it or not.
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:4-5
I pray this word, received from the Lord Jesus, will encourage you.
I have placed you where you are, in this time, for a purpose.
I have gifted you. You have unique talents, and you have my spiritual gifts. These talents and gifts are given to glorify me, and to bless others.
You may be thinking that you have no gifts or talents. Look at your life, at what you enjoy doing. What comes easily to you? Some gifts are easily overlooked, especially gifts of helping people, of giving your time and energy to others. These gifts are so important.
There is also the gift of prayer and intercession, which is also often overlooked. Prayer is so important, and when you pray faithfully for others, this is reaping much in my kingdom.
Whatever your gifts and talents, wherever you are, be thankful and faithful. Trust that I am using you.
A life dedicated to me, a person surrendered to me, is as incense to me, and is a powerful tool for me to use.
I love you. I know you through and through. I know your thoughts and desires, and I see your endeavours.
Do everything as prayer and worship to me, and trust that I will cause you to bear fruit.
Do you know Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?
Do you have a personal relationship with him?
If not, do you realise your need for him?
Have you become lukewarm in your walk, and realise your need to recommit your life to Jesus?
Here is a prayer you can say.
Dear Jesus, I am a sinner, and I need you. I thank you for going to the cross to die for me, and for rising again.
I am sorry for everything I have ever done wrong, and I ask you to please wash me clean. I ask you to come into my life to be my Lord and saviour, and I surrender to You.
Please fill me with your Holy Spirit and make me whole. Help me to trust you; help me to love you; help me to live for you. Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen
Whenever we do wrong after this, we need to say we’re sorry and ask for his forgiveness. We need to ask Jesus to help us to change.
Talk to him every day, and listen to him, as he wants to talk to you!
Get a bible: I suggest you begin by reading the Gospels and the Psalms. This will help you to get to know God.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you.
Jesus doesn’t promise to make life perfect, in fact there may be more hardship and suffering in following him, but he does promise to give us a purpose and a future: a reason to live!
