Busy Brides

Now as they went on their way, Jesus entered a village. And a woman named Martha welcomed him into her house.

And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching.

But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she went up to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me.”

But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary.

Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

Temptation to slacken in our watch

There seems to be a temptation in the spiritual realm to become slack with our watching for Jesus’ return.

Lately, I haven’t been thinking about the rapture as much as I was.

I’ve been focussed on the things of this world, and feeling I have plenty of time.

I may have time, but I may not.

If Jesus comes back today, will I be ready?

I know Jesus wants me to continue with his work, but he also wants us to be ready for his coming, and ready to leave this world.

I asked Jesus what’s happening.

 This was his reply:

The days have come and gone

There was so much excitement last year, with the sign in September, then the calculations and date settings that people made after September. Then watch dates were set for the 30th/31st December, and after that, the super blue blood moon. All with very good reasoning.

Now, there seems to be nothing.

At least, this is what Satan wants you to believe: he wants you to believe that you have plenty of time, and that nothing is pointing to me coming back.

It suited his purposes to see you all get so excited, for now he is stepping in and whispering discouragement in your ears.

I want you to expect me to come at any time!

I really could come at any time! It could be a feast day, and it equally may not be a feast day.

Continue with your life, but be centred in me. I know this can be difficult, but trust me to do this work in you.

What are your priorities?

Is it important to achieve and be productive, and to finish your projects?

Or is it important to be close to me?

The world would have you believe that your worth is based on your achievements and success. I don’t measure these things: I am looking for your love, worship and obedience.

For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel,

“In returning and rest you shall be saved;

in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.”

Isa 30:15a

Take a moment and be with me.

When you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, anxious or worried, take a moment and be aware of me.

Let me lead and guide you in every aspect of your life.

Nothing is worth getting stressed about – absolutely nothing.

Trust me in this moment, for it’s this moment that matters.

I promised to give you peace that passes all understanding, but you need to position yourself to receive it.

I am always with you! I am with you in every detail, every decision, every task, and I really do care about all these things.

I want to build trust in you.

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?

And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.

But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’

For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.

But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

Mat 6:25-34
